The Superstar is one of the all-time greats. Beginning its life as a basketball shoe back in 1970, the low-cut leather model found itself on the feet of NBA greats Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Jerry West as they glided across the hardwood. At the time, players were beginning to opt for leather shoes over canvas due to the increased support and protection they provided. And the Superstar built on this notion with the introduction of its iconic rubber ‘shell-toe’.
Over the years that followed, the Superstar would go on to transcend the basketball court - making its way over into the world of hip-hop and becoming synonymous with the likes of The Beastie Boys and Run DMC. A mainstay in streetwear ever since, the Superstar is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2020 and is available at size? in a cohort of colours to celebrate the momentous occasion.
